Afro Soul Singer Puleng Phoofolo Survives Tragic Car Accident

The Afro soul music community is mourning the loss of three talented musicians following a tragic car accident. However, there is a glimmer of hope amidst the sorrow as Puleng Phoofolo, one of the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle, has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home.

The Accident

On their journey to Lesotho, the group was traveling along the N8 national route in Kroonstad, Free State, when their car collided with a truck. The impact of the collision was devastating, claiming the lives of three prominent figures in the music industry: Malome Vector (Bakang Moleli), Lizwi Wokuqala, and music director Da Vos. Puleng Phoofolo, who miraculously survived, was initially hospitalized but has since been released and is recuperating at home.

Puleng Phoofolo’s Statement

Puleng Phoofolo took to her Facebook page to address her fans and the media, providing clarity and details about the accident. Her heartfelt statement expressed gratitude for the support she has received and her sorrow over the loss of her colleagues.

“In light of recent reports on social media, I would like to reassure all my fans and the media at large that I have been discharged from the hospital and I am home recovering,” Phoofolo stated. “I do confirm that indeed I was in the car that tragically collided with a truck and resulted in the untimely death of my industry brothers, Bakang Moleli aka Malome Vector, Lizwi Wokuqala, and Director Da Vos.”

The Loss to the Music Industry

The tragic accident has left a void in the music industry. Malome Vector and Lizwi Wokuqala were celebrated musicians known for their contributions to the SeSotho language genre, while Da Vos was a respected music director. Phoofolo emphasized the significant impact these individuals had on her career and the industry as a whole.

“Malome Vector and the entire team at Whole Time Entertainment have played a pivotal role in the growth and advancement of my brand and music career. This is a great loss to me and the industry as a whole,” she said.

Grateful for the Outpouring of Support

In her statement, Phoofolo expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming support and love she has received during this difficult time. “I am overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of love and support that I have been receiving during this trying time. My life flashed before my eyes. And I cannot thank God enough for His grace and mercy.”

Clarifying Media Confusion

Phoofolo also addressed the confusion caused by false and misleading media reports. Some reports erroneously claimed that Phoofolo had died in the accident, while others incorrectly stated that musician Ntate Stunna was involved. Phoofolo’s statement, along with clarification from Ntate Stunna’s management, has set the record straight.

Phoofolo’s statement highlighted the importance of accurate reporting, particularly in such sensitive situations. “There were false, confusing media reports about who exactly was involved in the accident. Some reports even said musician Ntate Stunna also died in the tragic crash. This could have been confused by the fact that Ntate Stunna and Malome Vector’s music is the same SeSotho language genre. Ntate Stunna’s management had to release a statement and set the record straight. They mentioned that he was not part of the unfortunate accident.”

Moving Forward

As Phoofolo recovers, the music community is left to mourn the loss of Malome Vector, Lizwi Wokuqala, and Da Vos. Details of the funerals and memorial services for the three artists have not yet been shared. In the meantime, fans and colleagues continue to offer their support and condolences to the families of the deceased and to Phoofolo.

The accident serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. Puleng Phoofolo’s survival is a testament to resilience and the support of a loving community. As she heals, the music industry will undoubtedly rally around her, honoring the memory of those lost and celebrating the enduring spirit of those who remain.
