Lorch Under Influence of Alcohol in Viral Video
Mamelodi Sundowns player Thembinkosi Lorch has found himself at the center of social media controversy this week. A video featuring Lorch and two unidentified women went viral, leading to widespread public attention.
In the video, Lorch, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, is seen dancing to Amapiano music, embracing the women in his arms.
The incident has evidently taken an emotional toll on Lorch. Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena revealed in an interview on “Sports Night Amplified” with Andile Ncube that Lorch deeply regrets the video.
“We brought him in to help the team and we brought him in knowing who he is and what he is about. Like everybody else, Lorch is a human who makes mistakes,” Mokwena stated. “Who is perfect? I’m probably more imperfect than him and make more mistakes than him.”
Mokwena further shared the emotional impact the situation had on Lorch. “He phoned me … he was in tears and that broke me for sure because I’m close to my players. When my players are crying and emotional, I get emotional and I cry and feel their pain too.”
This is not the first time Lorch’s personal life has attracted media attention this year. Earlier, his breakup with actress Natasha Thahane made headlines. The couple, who had a child together, parted ways after a few years of dating. Reports indicated that Natasha ended the relationship due to allegations of Lorch’s abusive behavior and infidelity.
