Victim Identified: Ntombi Mnisi
Ntombi Mnisi, sister of Clyde Mnisi who was also shot dead a few months ago in White River, was gunned down on Thursday while driving a Mercedes Benz V Class. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, with no confirmation yet on whether it was a robbery or a hijacking gone wrong.
Incident Details
According to Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the police are currently investigating a case of murder and attempted murder. Two armed suspects are being sought after they fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. Reports indicate that the assailants emerged from a silver grey Toyota Etios with Gauteng registration plates and opened fire, hitting Mnisi and her passenger. The 35-year-old Mnisi was shot 10 times with a rifle and was pronounced dead at the scene, while her passenger sustained injuries.
Evidence Found at Scene
Police discovered empty cartridges from a rifle and a pistol at the crime scene. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of this brazen attack. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects’ vehicle may have been stolen or hijacked in Bushbuckridge on May 21, 2024.

This incident comes just months after the murder of Ntombi’s brother, Clyde Mnisi, who was gunned down on March 26 near the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in White River. The family is still grappling with the loss and the recent shooting has only compounded their grief.
