African Pastor Believed Himself To Be A Messenger Of Jesus, Dies While Recreating ‘Resurrection’ From Grave

African Pastor Dies While Trying To Recreate Jesus Resurrection

In a tragic and bizarre incident in the Zambian town of Chidza, a young pastor named James Sakara met an untimely death after a misguided attempt to emulate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Sakara, a 22-year-old leader of the Christian Zion Church, convinced his congregation to bury him alive, believing that his unwavering faith would enable him to rise from the dead after three days, just as Jesus did.

Sakara’s confidence in his faith and his ability to perform this miraculous act was apparently unshakeable. He passionately explained his intentions to his followers, citing scriptures to support his claim. According to reports, Sakara referenced Jesus’ words to his disciples during the Last Supper.

He argued that when Jesus said, “do this in memory of me,” he was not only referring to the practice of communion but also to his resurrection. This interpretation led Sakara to believe that he, too, could rise from the dead if he were buried alive.

In addition to his role as a pastor, Sakara was known to practice traditional medicine, which may have further influenced his convictions. Despite skepticism from many members of his church, Sakara managed to persuade three individuals to assist him in his dangerous endeavor. These individuals helped him dig a shallow grave, tied his hands, and buried him alive.

However, the promised miracle did not occur. When members of the congregation returned to the grave after three days, they found Sakara’s lifeless body. Shocked and grief-stricken, some members attempted various spiritual exercises in a desperate bid to revive him, but their efforts were in vain.

The incident has left the Christian Zion Church and the local community in a state of disbelief and mourning. The Daily Times reported that the majority of Sakara’s congregation was initially hesitant to support his plan. Nevertheless, three men ultimately agreed to assist him. Following Sakara’s death, one of these men has come forward, while the other two are now being sought by the police for their involvement in the incident.

This tragic episode serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of extreme religious beliefs and the devastating consequences they can have. The community of Chidza is left to grapple with the loss of a young pastor whose faith led him down a perilous path.
