Mam’ Yvonne: A Journey of Education and Musical Innovation

This accomplishment reflects her commitment to continuous learning and personal development.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Sun, Mam’ Yvonne shared insights into her decision to pursue further education. She explained that her involvement in various international boards necessitated a deeper understanding of management principles. “If you go there and you’ve got no knowledge, it becomes a mission,” she emphasized.

This realization inspired her to undertake studies in management practices and leadership, despite the challenges of academic writing. However, Mam’ Yvonne expressed gratitude for overcoming these obstacles, affirming, “I’m glad I did it.”

While Mam’ Yvonne contemplates furthering her studies, particularly a Master’s degree, she acknowledges the rigorous nature of academic pursuits. Reflecting on her experience with the Honours degree, she admitted, “It wasn’t easy, but I did it.” Yet, she remains uncertain about embarking on another educational journey, considering the demanding nature of a 24-month Master’s program at the University of Reading, affiliated with Henley Business School.

Transitioning from academic endeavors to her passion for music, Mam’ Yvonne revealed her latest projects in the studio. Collaborating with a Ghanaian producer, she has remixed some of her hit singles, including “Makoti,” “Kwenzenjani,” and “Power of Africa.” These remixes, crafted in both Ghana and Nigeria, showcase her enduring musical prowess and cross-cultural influences.

Additionally, Mam’ Yvonne shared her excitement about paying tribute to the late Oliver Mtukudzi at the upcoming Joy of Jazz event, where she will perform their collaborative song “Tapera.”

Mam’ Yvonne’s journey epitomizes the harmonious blend of academic pursuit and artistic expression, underscoring her multifaceted talent and unwavering dedication to excellence. As she navigates through the realms of education and music, she continues to inspire audiences worldwide with her distinctive voice and timeless melodies.
