Two kids shot in Soshanguve again 😭💔 Batho ba kwa Soshanguve, what’s going on? 😳

Lamola Condemns Murder of Children Burnt to Death in Soshanguve

Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola has strongly condemned the brutal murder of two children in Soshanguve, Gauteng. The children, aged four and seven, perished when their shack was set on fire by gunmen allegedly targeting their father.

Prior to this heinous act, the suspects reportedly shot six individuals at a local shebeen, resulting in two fatalities.

“It is unconscionable that such horrific incidents occur during a period when our country is commemorating Child Protection Week,” Lamola stated. “This tragedy underscores the urgent need for swift and decisive action from law enforcement to bring the perpetrators to justice. The full might of the law must be demonstrated to ensure justice for the victims and their families.”

Following the incident, police have launched a manhunt for the suspects involved in the killings.

In addition to this, Lamola condemned another violent incident in Glenmore, KwaZulu-Natal, where a family was attacked, allegedly due to their support for Palestine. This attack led to the death of a woman and the attempted murder of her husband and son.

“This senseless act of violence, which resulted in the death of a woman and the attempted murder of her husband and son, is a blatant attack on South Africa’s Constitutionally-guaranteed rights to freedom of association, expression, and political choice. We call for a thorough investigation and prosecution to ensure that justice is served,” Lamola urged.

The minister’s statements highlight the critical need for law enforcement to act decisively to protect vulnerable communities and uphold the nation’s constitutional rights. – SAnews.gov.za
