National Youth Service (NYS) EPWP Vacancies (X2500 Posts) at the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (DID)

The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development, through its Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), is offering an exciting opportunity for 2,500 unemployed youth in Gauteng Province.
This initiative aims to provide valuable work experience over a 24-month period within the National Youth Service (NYS) Programme. If you’re eager to gain practical skills and contribute to your community, this could be your chance!
Programme Duration: 2025 โ 2027 Financial Year
Target Group: The NYS intake will comprise:
- 60% Females
- 40% Males
- 2% Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
- 100% Historically Disadvantaged individuals (HDs)
Requirements for the NYS Programme:
- Age: Youth between 18 to 33 years (participants must be below 35 for the entire 24-month contract period).
- Education: Minimum of Grade 10.
- Citizenship: Valid South African Identity Document.
- Availability: Must be available for the programme’s duration and willing to sign a contract.
- Residency: Applicants should reside in one of the five corridors (regions) of Gauteng Province:
- City of Johannesburg
- City of Tshwane
- City of Ekurhuleni
- Sedibeng
- West Rand Districts
- Proximity: Should live near the project site.
- Criminal Record: Must have no criminal record.

Stipend: Successful candidates will receive a stipend of R3,500 per month for 24 months. Please note, contracts will not be extended beyond this period.
