In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community a young woman was shot and killed while returning from her boyfriend home near Flamingo Heights in Tongaat KwaZulu-Natal last night. The victim whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of her family was reportedly ambushed and fatally wounded in what appears to be a targeted attack.

According to preliminary reports from the KwaZulu-Natal police the shooting occurred shortly after 10 PM. The young woman had just left her boyfriend home and was walking alone when an unknown assailant approached her. Witnesses in the vicinity reported hearing multiple gunshots before discovering the woman lifeless body on the roadside.
Emergency services were immediately alerted, and paramedics arrived swiftly at the scene. Despite their best efforts to revive her, the woman was declared dead on the spot. Speaking to the media KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident stating that a murder case has been opened. We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. Our detectives are working tirelessly to gather evidence and bring the responsible party to justice. We urge anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist us in our investigation said Captain Gwala.
