Twelve research funds will be given to young men and women under the age of 35 as part of this program, which aims to inspire young scholars to pursue the study of the common history of the Silk Roads.

Details about UNESCO Silk Roads Youth Research Grant
With the help of the National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO, UNESCO launched the “Silk Roads Youth Research Grant” within the framework of the Social and Human Sciences Sector in 2021 as part of the ongoing work of the Silk Roads Programme to better understand the rich history, shared legacy, and spirit of the Silk Roads. Launch day for the third edition was March 8, 2023.
Based on the merits of the proposed research and its potential to further knowledge of the interactions and exchanges occurring throughout the Silk Roads and the tangible outcomes coming from them, the panel will award 12 awards of USD 10,000 each research project. There will be two installments of the grant given.
Eligibility Criteria
Application requirements for the UNESCO Silk Roads Youth Grant include the following:
Graduate students from all nations who are postgraduate researchers are eligible to apply for the grant as long as they are under 35 at the time of application. The proposed research can be conducted by a single researcher or as part of a group or collaborative project. However, only one grant will be given out for each research project.
