Gogo Maweni Pushes for SK Khoza to Pay Child Maintenance Amid Paternity Speculation

Renowned celebrity sangoma, Gogo Maweni, has reignited public discourse by urging actor SK Khoza to contribute to child maintenance, especially now that he is reportedly employed.

This comes after a photograph surfaced, purportedly showing SK Khoza’s alleged child, sparking speculation due to the child’s lighter complexion, with some questioning the authenticity and suggesting a DNA test to confirm paternity.

Gogo Maweni, whose real name is Lee-Anne Mokopo, has long expressed dissatisfaction with SK Khoza’s failure to fulfill his financial obligations towards their child. In a recent interview with ZiMoja, she emphasized her demand for Khoza to support their child financially, especially given his current employment status.

Although Gogo Maweni has previously been understanding of Khoza’s financial difficulties when he was unemployed, she now insists that his improved fortunes necessitate that he step up to his parental responsibilities.

Despite her own financial stability, which includes owning three houses, cars, and herbal stores, all acquired with cash, Gogo Maweni believes that SK Khoza should not be absolved of his duty to contribute to their child’s upbringing. She stated, “I have the means to support my lifestyle, but that does not absolve him of his responsibility. He now has a job and must contribute.”

Gogo Maweni has announced her intention to consult legal representatives to address this matter through the judicial system, rather than resorting to muthi (traditional African medicine). She expressed her determination to ensure that the law compels SK Khoza to fulfill his parental obligations, saying, “I no longer need to stand in line at the maintenance court. I can afford my own lawyer, and I will deal with this matter legally.”

In the past, Gogo Maweni admitted to using muthi on another former partner, former Mamelodi Sundowns soccer player Siyabonga Zulu, after taking him to court for child maintenance. However, in the case of SK Khoza, she emphasized her preference for resolving the matter through legal channels.

The situation has garnered significant public attention, raising questions about the responsibilities of parents and the lengths one might go to secure financial support for their children.
