Family Rift Continues: Sfiso Ncwane’s Mother Disowns Daughter-in-law Ayanda

In the ongoing saga surrounding the legacy of gospel artist Sfiso Ncwane, a new and disheartening chapter has unfolded. The rift between Sfiso’s widow, Ayanda Ncwane, and his mother, Fikile Ncwane, has deepened further, culminating in Fikile’s formal disownment of Ayanda.

This fraught relationship, marked by public conflicts and escalating tensions, has once again captured the public’s attention.

A Turbulent Relationship

Since the passing of Sfiso Ncwane seven years ago, the relationship between his widow and his mother has been volatile, frequently making headlines. The latest incident highlights the ongoing strife between Fikile and Ayanda. In an exclusive interview with Sunday World, Fikile Ncwane announced her decision to disown Ayanda, citing the latter’s involvement with the police and allegations of mistreatment and assault.

“As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have a daughter-in-law,” Fikile stated. “I disowned Ayanda a long time ago, but now I am making it official. I took that decision when she brought the police into my home, accusing me of ill-treating and attacking her.”

Long-Standing Conflicts

The strained relationship dates back to 2015 when Fikile publicly accused Sfiso of neglect. In response, Sfiso and Ayanda accused Fikile of witchcraft. Although Sfiso and his mother eventually reconciled, Ayanda had already distanced herself from the Ncwane family.

When Sfiso passed away in December 2016, the family faced another rift as they were denied access to his body and had to find their own way back to KwaZulu-Natal.

Fikile Ncwane continues to express her frustrations, lamenting that she has not found closure even seven years after her son’s death. She has also been unable to see her grandchildren, with her attempts to reach out to Ayanda proving unsuccessful. Resigned, Fikile stated, “I just pray that one day she tells the world what really happened to my son.”

Ongoing Drama

This family drama serves as a stark reminder of the complexities and challenges that can arise within family dynamics, especially after the passing of a loved one. As the rift continues, it underscores the lingering pain and unresolved issues that can persist, affecting both personal relationships and the broader public narrative surrounding Sfiso Ncwane’s legacy.
