Former top Generations Actor Masebenza now homeless & lives in the streets. See what happened to him

Actor on the Streets! Hugh Masebenza Now Reportedly Homeless

Former Generations and Scandal actor Hugh Masebenza has reportedly fallen on hard times. The star, known for his memorable role as Zuko Zondi in the ETV soap Scandal and his appearance in the popular Savanna commercial in 2008, is allegedly now homeless and begging for food on the streets of Pretoria.

Over the weekend, Masebenza was spotted looking drastically different from his days as a rising star in South African television. Sources indicate that he now walks the streets searching for piece jobs and relies on public handouts to survive. Once considered a promising talent in the entertainment industry, his acting career fizzled out, and he turned to music, playing the guitar and securing gigs at cafés in Pretoria to make ends meet from 2017.

Concern has grown among South Africans, especially since his last Instagram post was on December 11, 2018. Many are calling for his family to intervene and help him. However, the exact duration of Masebenza’s homelessness and whether his family is aware of his situation remains unclear.

Amidst the circulating photos and public outcry, a man identifying himself as Masebenza’s nephew, Rifuwo Masebenza, has claimed that the images are misleading. According to Rifuwo, Masebenza is not homeless but involved in a movie shoot that requires him to appear disheveled. “The guy is healthy and fine, he had a movie shoot which required him to look like he does in the second image. I’m sharing this to alert everyone this is all lies!” Rifuwo Masebenza tweeted.

Despite these assurances, the photos have sparked several calls for intervention from concerned members of the public. The situation continues to unfold, and many are watching closely, hoping for clarity and positive news about Hugh Masebenza’s well-being.
