As a policy analyst one will be mandated to work within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on a team that assesses the national security risks associated with foreign transactions, particularly those related to U.S. Critical Infrastructure and information and communications technology and services (ICTS) transactions.

The role involves analyzing these transactions for their impact on national security, coordinating with various government agencies, and ensuring compliance with strict timelines.

Policy Analyst Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities for the Job

Responsibility Description
Coordinating within and between government agencies Facilitate communication and collaboration among different government agencies to achieve common goals.
Analyzing threats, vulnerabilities, consequences, and risks Assess potential threats, vulnerabilities, and their consequences to determine associated risks.
Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies Create strategies to reduce or manage identified risks effectively.
Monitoring and enforcing compliance Ensure adherence to regulations and policies and take corrective actions when necessary.
Guiding transactions through the regulatory process Assist in navigating regulatory requirements for various transactions or processes.
Providing updates and documentation to DHS leadership Prepare and present updates, reports, and documentation to leadership within the Department of Homeland Security.

The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are important, as well as the ability to write for an executive audience and manage multiple deadlines.

Qualifications & Work Experience
